The intermodal terminal, integrating the main branches of transport – rail and road, is a direction of transport development that will ensure effective and efficient exchange of goods between Świętochłowice (the area of influence: southern part of Polish, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, East Germany) and the rest of Europe and the world (via seaports).

The Delta Trans Group has already  taken steps to implement the investment of building an intermodal terminal at the logistics centre in Świętochłowice.

 

INFRASTRUCTURE & LOCATION

 

The logistics centre currently operates:

 

  • 144,000 m2 of modern warehouse and production space
  • transport base with a fleet of 300 sets

 

The logistics centre is located in the centre of the GZM Metropolis, near the international railway line No. 189, not far from the borders with the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The location provides an excellent connection to the road transport network through the proximity of the main roads A4 Katowice - Kraków, A1 Warsaw - Bielsko Biała.

Optimization of supply chains and increasing transport efficiency by handling intermodal units: 20, 30, 40, 45-foot containers, HC containers, semi-trailers and swap bodies.

 

 

WHAT THE TERMINAL OFFERS

 

INVESTMENT POTENTIAL FOR BUILDING A TERMINAL IN THE LOGISTICS CENTER

 

  • 10ha of investment area
  • 6200 sqm of land for the construction of a terminal yard for loading and unloading purposes
  • Land for the construction of a warehouse hall with an area of 22,200 sqm of space for a storage yard
  • as part of the investment, a railway siding will be built to enable trains to access the terminal part, connected to the access track leading from the Ruda Chebzie station [railway line No. 189].
  • the construction plan includes the launch of 3 unloading tracks and one delivery track

 

TRANSSHIPMENT OPERATION SCHEDULE

 

As part of the full integration of rail and road transport and including in the offer the possibility of storing goods on the storage yard, the concept concerns:

  • the possibility of connecting the intermodal terminal with warehouse services or production facilities that are available in Świętochłowice (currently operating 144,000 sqm and planned for construction 22,200 sqm - warehouse and production halls)
  • places for transshipment of high-volume, non-containerized goods – e.g. steel coils, paper, etc.
